Kenneth Merrill, 52, will be living on Broken Wagon Way in Prescott Valley

Kenneth Merrill. 52, convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification, has advised the Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) that he will be living on Broken Wagon Way in Prescott Valley, according to a news release.

He is not wanted by the PVPD at this time, and is considered a Level 2 sex offender.

The Prescott Valley Police Department is releasing this information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notification of Sex Offenders Law. The offender in this publication is living in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, released from county jail, or are accepted under an interstate compact. Offenders are categorized into three levels according to their risk to the community: Level one (1)-low risk; Level two (2)-intermediate risk; Level three (3)-high risk.

On July 14, 2006, in Vermillion County, IL, 35-year-old offender was convicted of misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to 24 months’ probation. The victim was an adult female, known to the offender.

On Nov. 3, 2008, in Vermillion County, the then-37-year-old offender was convicted of failure to register and sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for three years.

On Feb. 9, 2015, in Yavapai County, the then-44-year-old offender was convicted of failure to register and sentenced to 25 years of probation.

On Jan.16, 2020, in Yavapai County, the 48-year-old offender was convicted of failure to register and was sentenced to three years in the Arizona Department of Corrections and 25 years’ probation.

This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed community is a safer community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated. According to the news release, Merrill is white, 5-foot-9, weighing 170 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
