‘Battle of the Bands’ between Prescott and Bradshaw high schools scheduled for Aug. 30
Come support the local marching band programs on Wednesday night, Aug. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot at the McDonald’s Restaurant in Prescott Valley off Highway 69.
The Prescott High School “Pride of Prescott” Marching Band and the Bradshaw Mountain High School “Marching Bears” Band will entertain the area community in what has been described as an “epic Battle of the Bands” event, said Bradshaw Mountain High School Band Director Phil Blackwell.
From 5 to 7 p.m., the bands will perform with the restaurant to divide a percent of the sales during that time to the two bands, giving the two Band Booster groups each 30 minutes seeking donations to support their individual band programs, Blackwell said.
At the close of the event, the band that earns the most donations will receive a bonus amount of $300, with second place receiving $150.
The two bands are expected to play music from their upcoming musical competition and half-time shows.
“It should be a fun night,” Blackwell said.
