Prescott Valley Police issues alert for Level 2 sex offender David Gibson
Level 2 sex offender David Gibson, 59, has advised the Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) that he will be living on East Rancho Vista Drive, in Prescott Valley, according to a news release.
He is not wanted by the PVPD at this time.
The Prescott Valley Police Department is releasing this information pursuant to ARS 13-3825 The Community Notification of Sex Offenders Law. The offender in this publication is living in Prescott Valley. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, released from County Jail, or are accepted under an interstate compact. Offenders are categorized into three levels according to their risk to the community: Level one (1)-low risk; Level two (2)-intermediate risk; Level three (3)-high risk.
On Nov. 13, 1998, in Riverside County, California, Gibson, 35 years old at the time, was convicted of three counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years with force; two counts of lewd or lascivious Acts with child under 14 years of age; and two counts of send/sell/etc. obscene matter depicting minor, depict sexual conduct of minor. The offender was sentenced to 26 years in the California Department of Justice. Victims were one juvenile male and three juvenile females known to the offender.
This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is the belief that an informed community is a safer community, PVPD stated in the release. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated, PVPD added.

According to the news release, Gibson is 6-foot-1, weighing 235 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes.
