Obituary: Melba Jean Donaldson Neely

Melba Jean Donaldson Neely was born Nov. 5, 1926 to Ed and Othella Donaldson. She was the second of five daughters. She passed peacefully Aug. 26, 2023, at her son’s home in St. George, Utah.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bev Neely. They had three children, Jacque (Roger) Adams, Jan Gallagher, Bob (Karen) Neely, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Her family was important to her and she loved them all. Melba loved to serve others through her church callings, family, and neighbors. She loved beautiful flowers and being outside. She was truly happy working in her yard. Melba loved music and always had a song in her heart.

Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7785 S. Iron Springs Rd., Kirkland, AZ, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, with a burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Peeples Valley Pioneer Cemetery - Genung Memorial Park, 18275 AZ-89, Peeples Valley, AZ 86332.
